Intro

Dark inspiration from life in urban Russia is given a retro revival and spin, where magazine prints, old newspapers from the 80′s, graffiti, paint, geometry and scans of leaflets on doping are swirled into a cauldron…

ZDDZ celebrates a sense of experimentation, East End style and playful attitude that should come from fashion.  The Autumn Winter Season 13/14 for ZDDZ continues to build a dynamic, raw and ‘street’ culture influenced signature within it’s use of print and communication through shape.  Commentary can be found on the subject of ‘Bodycult’, the significance of doping in sports to maintain performance and the pressure that becomes the norm.

The focus on pattern development and construction has elavated this season, there’s a real confidence shining through the use of fabrications. Paradoxed messages through shape, influenced by anything from traditional, delicate looking, Russian tablecloths covering modern industrial machinery to film set dressing gowns made in to weathered, everyday overcoats.  Capturing a sense of positive irrevelence and an acute sense of respect and understanding at the same time.

Confidence, fun, a sense of gritty nostalgia and attention to detail will always be the ‘flavor of the month’ here, just expect them to get better and better at delivering it.
